Data Protection World Forum and the DPO Centre have launched a major new initiative to build a consistent and representative panel of UK based data protection officers who will contribute their views through regular online surveys.
The UK Data Protection Index will provide unique insight into the development of the privacy industry as it evolves over time. The Index questions will cover a range of topics including organisational strategy, resources, budgets, the response to current issues such as coronavirus and the relative importance of specific concerns.
Nick James, chief executive of GRC World Forums, which includes DPWF, said: “A community of practitioners which continues to grow in importance as a profession deserves the best possible insight into its position and development. We will be shining a light on what data protection professionals really think about the things that matter most.”
Rob Masson, chief executive of the DPO Centre, said: “The DPO Centre is very excited to be involved with the UK Data Protection Index. Being the first survey of its kind that has been specifically designed to reveal detailed insights into the opinions of UK data protection professionals, it will help shape the future of the sector, provide clarity on the key issues, and ultimately deliver tangible and ongoing benefit to the industry.”
Data Protection World Forum and the DPO Centre are running a webinar to launch the index on 20 July – you can register to find out more about why the index will play such an important role in the development of the profession (and how you can take part) by clicking here.
