We are delighted to announce Vicki Gavin as a guest speaker at PrivSec London, coming to London’s QEII Exhibition Centre on February 4th and 5th 2020.
Head of Cyber Risk at Artemis Fund Managers, Vicki is passionate about helping others achieve innovative best practice in governance, risk and control. As urgency heightens for sophisticated lawful data governance, Vicki will bring timely subject-matter advice to delegates attending PrivSec London.
More broadly, the two-day conference will offer CEOs, CISOs, data practitioners and IT professionals the chance to join the global debate on data privacy and cyber security as digital transformation accelerates and data law frameworks grow in complexity.
Evolving solutions to a growing threat
In response to the growing threat from the criminal element online, organisations have increasingly turned to technological solutions in a bid to shore up the integrity and security of data processing. But failure to put the right mechanisms in place to protect these systems has left the door open to hackers and data management malpractice.
With data incidents occurring daily, a breach has almost become an inevitability – it’s no longer a case of ‘if’, but ‘when’.
Cyber resilience brings facets of cyber security, business continuity, management and organisational resilience together to inform a strategy that can help organisations to mitigate worst-case scenarios, and ride out the choppy waters of cyber incidents.
Without embracing a comprehensive approach to cyber resilience, companies run an even higher risk of losing productivity and reputation in the event of a cyber incident, while regulator action could cause further high-profile damage. The longer firms take to get back on their feet, the more damaging the effects will be.
